Second Sight is a networked based organization. So it is not about one individual view on the future, but a compilation of various views and different insights. Second Sight was founded by Andrea Wiegman en Jan Bletz in 2008. Previously they established the trend magazine Eye (1997) and in 2007 they instated the Trend Watcher Of The Year Awards, which contribute to the professionalization of the trend business. Every year Second Sight launches a yearbook. This book is filled with information and visions of various trend experts on the upcoming year, in this case 2013.
Just like they do every year, Second Sight is hosting a Trend Event, in Amsterdam, in honor of their new yearbook. During this event the most inspiring insights will be shared with the public. This year Trend Watcher of the Year 2012 and founder of Studio Zeitgeist, Farid Tabarki, will be the first speaker and share his vision on the world in 2013. Further more Samuel Levie – Founder of Youth Food Movement, Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten – award winner for upcoming talent, Barbara Putman Cramer – industrial ecologist, Tom Palmaerts – youth trend wachter at TrendWolves and last but not least Steven van der Kruit – trend watcher at TrenzWalks will be sharing their vision as well.
