Hollywood legend and former Governor of the State of California Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting back into the entertainment business. The Austrian-born actor is to appear as a superhero named „The Governator“ in a TV cartoon and a new cartoon book developed by veteran writer Stan Lee. The new cartoon show, which debuts on US television next year, is inspired by the name Schwarzenegger was given by journalists after he became governor of California in 2003. “The Governator“, of course, is a combination of the words governor and terminator. “this name combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world,” Schwarzenegger told Entertainment Weekly.
The comic alter ego will be a mixture of the real life character of Arnold Schwarzenegger and his character hero in his films such as Terminator, True Lies, among others.
The news was unveiled at MIPTV in Cannes during a press conference with Schwarzenegger in attendance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXp7EJao2hA and http://blog.mipworld.com
