Louis-Ulusse Chopard was born in 1860 in a small Suisse village named Sonvilier. Louis-Ulysse Chopard was a talented young craftsman, who opened his own workshop. By virtue of their precision and reliability, his watches quickly gained a solid reputation in Eastern Europe, Russia and Scandinavia.
In 1921, the founder’s son, Paul Louis Chopard, opened a branch in La Chaux-de-Fonds. In 1937 the company moved to Geneva, the capital of Haute Horlogerie, thereby bringing it closer to its cosmopolitan clientele.
Paul Andre Chopard was the next Chopard to take over the company. In 1963 he sought a buyer capable of reviving and perpetuating the company, since none of his sons wished to take over. That’s when Karl Scheufele, descendant of a dynasty of watchmakers and jewelers bought the company.
Under Scheufele, Chopard experienced spectacular development. Renowned for its creativity, it’s art technology and the excellente of it’s craftsmen, Chopard became one of the leading names in the high-end watch and jewellery industry.
10 years ago Chopard designed their first series of accessories, to top up their amazing watches and jewellery line. This in addition to their mainline, which is made with the same passion and precision as they make their watches and jewellery.
Today Chopard is proud to present their latest accesories, the Chopard Backgammon game set. It’s made out of Sycamore black wood and tessellated with red, beige and black Sycamore wood. This wood is originating from the fig-tree and is very exclusive. All over the Backgammon game you find the signature C from Chopard, what makes this game a very special must have for all the Chopard Fans.
