The company Cases Singulars proposes for Holy Week a series of cultural activities among its interesting proposals. This time we stayed with the house of Manuel Rocamora-Foundation Rocamora an indefatigable collector who made a donation of more than 4,000 pieces of Barcelona City Hall to create the Textile Museum i d’clothing. This painter, writer and patron, who belonged to the gentry Catalan, traveled around the world personally acquiring parts art galleries, auctions and antique shops.
The mansion, a mansion that was Elizabethan home of the collector, is in the upper area of Barcelona. There, while enjoying the building and its gardens, you can see the collections of art that the owner was keeping throughout his life: clothing, ceramics d’Alcora, robots, painting, sculpture, antique toys …Ah! And the tour ends with a tasting of chocolate in the garden.
If you are going with children can choose the family activity “Learn to embroider a picture!”, In which, following a visit to toys and automata-Textile, a workshop with breakfast of chocolate included. The workshop lasts three hours (from 10.30 to 13.30), and children must be accompanied by an adult.
