Culture: The artistic production of Zaha Hadid

Like every year, Ivorypress cycle architecture opens fall season as artistic home. For this purpose, the sample presents Zaha Hadid. Beyond Boundaries, Art and Design, which provides an overview of the artistic production of the architect Zaha Hadid (Bagdad, Iraq, 1950), which reflected his personal vision of the world.

The work of this architect, who was the first woman honored with the prestigious Pritzker Prize in 2004, goes beyond the design of buildings and includes drawing, painting, relief, sculpture and installations, as well as furniture design and objects. For Kenny Schachter, curator of the exhibition, in the eyes of Hadid “art, design and architecture come together to explore the aesthetic boundaries of many forms and ways as one can imagine.”

The exhibition will be open until November 3, provides an overview of the career of Zaha Hadid and comprises nearly one hundred works in many different media, from models and plans to fixtures, furniture or home accessories. Thus, the selection of pieces that will see the public includes oil paintings on canvas made by the architect in the 80 and 90, among which are The World (89 Degrees) and the project for Vitra fire station, conducted in 1983 and 1991 respectively. His latest production will also be present, with projects, drawings and models as The Peak Block 2012 that show the evolution of his work.

Some of his latest works of Zaha Hadid, such as the MAXXI: National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome or London Aquatics Centre designed for the 2012 Olympics, are examples of the challenges facing the Iraqi architect to create a fluid space and complex. It is a way of putting the architectural work that transforms our vision of the future with new concepts and visionary ways, as can also be seen in buildings like the Guangzhou Opera House theater in China or the exchanger Hoenheim-Nord Terminus in Strasbourg.
