Fashion: Luxury Fashion Week Abu Dhabi

Dubai couldn’t secure long-term support from the Government for the fashion show and was therefore forced to cancel the event. But just two hours away from Dubai there is a great fashion spectacle to encounter, The Luxury fashion week in Abu Dhabi.

The World Luxury Fashion Week showcases the world’s leading Haute Couture houses and high-end Prêt-à-Porter fashion brands to an invitation-only four-day event, an exclusive and select group of private clients from the Gulf Co-operation Council region. Haute Couture and high-end fashion designers shows will be presented in between each course of a 5-course gastronomic menu.

The four-day show schedule opens with two evenings of BMW Haute Couture shows, followed by two evenings of some of the most prestigious prêt-à-porter brands, featuring, amongst others, the likes of Carolina Herrera NY, Hervé Léger, Paule Ka ‘Black Carpet’ Collections, and acclaimed regional designers, Walid Atallah and DAS Collection. In addition to this already impressive line-up, BMW will host exclusive customer evening events where several top Haute Couture designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier will present their latest Haute Couture collections.

The host city, Abu Dhabi, is the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the wealthiest Emirate, which is rapidly establishing itself as the luxury fashion capital of the Middle East. This reputation will be further enhanced as over seventy luxury fashion boutiques open in Abu Dhabi, a trend that is forecast to continue for some years.

The inaugural World Luxury Fashion Week is being staged at the new and iconic Jumeirah at Etihad Towers; a contemporary and innovative design symbol of the new Abu Dhabi, modern, sophisticated and luxurious. Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, is the first Jumeirah hotel to open in Abu Dhabi. The dramatic sculptural form and spectacular design innovation has set the new scale for luxury experiences in Abu Dhabi.

World Luxury fashion week is supported by iconic partners such as Abu Dhabi Motors, BMW, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Rowenta, Etihad Airways and Avenue at Etihad Towers.

There is an expectation of Abu Dhabi to deliver something different, something prestigious, something new for tourism and indeed to the region, in terms of recognition of the Gulf Co-operation Counsil collective spending power.

This marvelous fashion event will take place from the 25th until the 28 of November 2012.
