Fashion: NEWGEN Sponsorship announced

While it is still months away, the time has come to start thinking about London Fashion Week again.  It is hard to believe, but The British Fashion Council (BFC) has already released the list of the honored and distinguished list of the promising young designers selected for the BFC NEWGENsponsorship, supported by TopShop.  Those who were selected will show at the London Fashion Week in September of this year.

The NEWGEN sponsorship is a key draw for fashion media from around the world, as well as buyers attending LFW.  These lucky designers will be given the opportunity to showcase their work or even use the BFC catwalk show space.

The sought-after catwalk sponsorship has, once again, given to the emerging artists David Koma, Louise Gray and Michael Van Der Ham. They will be taking over the catwalk and are soon to be dominating the most elite and luxurious boutiques internationally.

Christopher Raeburn, Craig Lawrence, J.W. Anserson and Nasir Mazhar will again receive support for their showcase in presentations.  The NEWGEN name as a backing already gives these elitist designers the upper hand.

Jordan Askill, a veteran to the NEWGEN award, will showcase an installation in Somerset House, but will not be along.  The new addition Sister by Sibling will also host an installation.  Already known for its work done last season with TopShop, there is a lot of promise in this young designer’s eyes.

Finally, completing the list of the preferred few are http://www.felicitybrown.co.uk/, J. JS Lee, James Long and Thomas Tait, who have all been awarded space in the London Fashion Week exhibition for another season. They’ll be joined by two who are not as familiar with the award, Tim Soar, the menswear designer who’s set to offer up a full women’s collection next season, and Palmer//Harding, a design duo whose focus is on men and women’s shirts.

The support, both material and demonstrative, will help these budding young artists to use the advantage of the catwalk for London’s Fashion Week as a huge step in the direction of becoming some of the most famous and deluxe brands in the world, available to those who seek luxury and the finest things in life.
