Fashion : Valli designs a collection for Macy's

Giambattista Valli is he latest couturier to design a collection for US high street store Macy’s, as part of its Impulse designer series. Before Valli, Macy’s already worked together with other famous designers. Valli is the fourth name brought in by Macy’s to design a capsule collection for the store’s contemporary line. He follows Karl Lagerfeld, Matthew Williamson and Kinder Aggugini.

“Valli is a visionary talent known for extravagant designs, so heading into the holiday season is a perfect moment for his creations in our stores,” said Jeff Gennette, Macy’s chief merchandising officer. “This collection strikes just the right balance between youthfulness and sophistication.” From Valli’s high street debut, we can expect cocktail dresses, skirts, blouses, lightweight jackets and graphic T-shirts in red, black, grey, fuchsia and gold, all done in the designer’s signature bold color and texture combinations and ladylike style.

This collection is mostly dedicated to the customer who loves fashion but is not willing to spent $ 1.000 or more for it. The offering will feature similar signatures to Valli’s mainline, with feminine fabrics including lace, brocade and tulle, as well as bold prints and vibrant color. Prices will start at $50 (£30.23). So it will be affordable for nearly everybody.

Valli’s collection will launch on October 26. So be prepared and visit the stores fast, it will be a limited-edition.
