The Café de la Paix is a worldwide-known restaurant in Paris which was inaugurated in 1862 by the Empress Eugénie. The cooking proposed is high French gastronomy which evolves as the seasons go by.
The chef, Christophe Raoux who is 38 years old, has just been nominated as the executive Chef of all the cooking of the Intercontinental Paris le Grand. That is to say, he has under his responsibility all the cooking of the restaurants in Place de l’Opéra, and for instance, the mythic Café de la Paix. This is a real challenge for the chef, who began to work in prestigious restaurants of France very young, at only 17. He started to work in Paris in 1993, trying to be known in the capital.
The click appeared in 2003 when he met the French chef Alain Ducasse, while he was deposing his CV at the Plaza Athénée, one of the most prestigious restaurants in Paris. This meeting was fructuous: Alain Ducasse confided to Christophe Raoux the responsibility of a restaurant situated in the Champs Elysées: le Marcel. A real challenge which permitted to the chef to learn rigor and precision in his work. Since this story the two chefs never stopped their collaboration, and made many other culinary projects together, for our great pleasure.
Concerning the meals, the menu proposes each three months an innovation! The cooking is defined as “classical and contemporary” and it will surprise you thanks to the look of the meals and their incredible flavors. The menu also proposes “fashion pastries”, which are wonderful desserts inspired of the haute couture. For instance, the desserts “black glasses”, “podium”, “lace”, “pop fizz”, and many more have already been proposed during the past years. The choice in terms of wine is also incredible, with more than 110 references.
The luxurious decoration will enable you to enjoy entirely the delicious meals and to feel perfectly good. The restaurant is divided into two rooms: the Table d’Hôte, and the Carré Opéra, which is ideal for private dinners and can welcome around 40 persons.
