JUVIA, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, is well known for its amazing views, for example the full moon over Miami and the extraordinary sea view. It’s located on penthouse level with vertical gardens filled with beautiful pink flowers. JUVIA is embellished with gorgeous white furniture. The service is absolutely perfect, a very enthusiastic and hard working crew. French, South America and Asian cuisines fill the menu, which take care of an enormous variation in dishes. This extraordinary restaurant and lounge is one of the many design restaurants that are popping up in the area, but is definitely the most fabulous one.
Esquire magazine also thought JUVA is very good example of a remarkable best novelty and therefore awarded them with the title; “Design of the Year”. The Esquire annual Best New Restaurant of 2012 magazine will be in the November issue. John Mariani, Esquire’s food and travel correspondent assembled the list of America’s 20 best new places to dine. Making the list from Miami, he immediately catches sight of JUVIA, the ten-thousand-square-foot rooftop restaurant.
“No one expects to get in an elevator, go up nine floors, and enter an oasis featuring water, plants, and sky all working together in perfect balance with the existing and new architecture of the building,” explains Alejandro Barrios Carrero, the Caracas, Venezuela-based designer who worked on the stunning Miami-Beach project.
“The first time I went into the space I was blown away by the power it had. I wanted to respect as much as possible that flying sensation it has, and the relation between the outside and the inside,” says Barrios Carrero. “I wanted to create a space that would understand and speak the same language of the high level of design that was in the area and a restaurant that transmitted the energy of South Beach.”
