In December 2010, Lion Noir opened it’s doors for the public. In the past, this spot on the Reguliersdwarsstraat 28 was know as “Tuynhuys” but Casper Reinders turned it in to a new hotspot. Lion Noir offers you an exceptional lunch, signature cocktails and an incredible dining experience of French Cuisine.
Casper Reinders, owner of Lion Noir, is a well-known entrepreneur in the world of food and beverage. He has big enterprises like Jimmy Woo, Suzy Wong and Bo Cinq, on his name. Casper started his career after he studied Marketing and PR. He opened his first restaurant in Haarlem and started developing other great formulas like Jimmy Woo. In 2004 he won his first big title: “most outstanding Food and Beverage entrepreneur”. This title was given to him by “Royal Food and Beverage The Netherlands”, a very honorable title.
Lion Noir is a collaboration between Casper Reinders and two other extraordinary entrepreneurs, Mr. Yen and Serge Rijn. A great mix of three successful men, who complete each other in a perfect way.
Lion noir is a great expansion for the catering industry in Amsterdam and definitely a great economical impulse for the Reguliersdwarsstraat. Lion Noir has an inside out concept, the developers made this concept the way they wanted to linger during a night out, not what they thought the crowd would like. They are convinced that the incrowd of Amsterdam can appreciate their taste for food, their taste for interior design and their taste for style.
The restaurant turned out to be very authentic, a classic style finished of with a French Cuisine. The interior design is the work of Thijs Murre, an extraordinary interior designer. Thijs made the place special, cozy and adventures. He used big leather benches, camouflage painted walls decorated with peacocks and pieces of carpet. Spectacular details are the marvelous photos on the wall, made by German art duo, Billy & Hells and the metal skeleton of a Boa Constrictor.
“Lion Noir is a great arrangement of life’s basic necessities”
