Gourmet: Re-opening of the luxury Bel-Air Hotel

After a two year, multimillion dollar renovation with extensive refurbishment and redesign, The Dorchester Collection’s legendary Hotel Bel-Air will re-open in October. The renovation will bring the iconic property into the 21st century.

The hotel has always been known for its individuality and great care was taken to keep much of the hotel’s originality. The famed Spanish Colonial architecture splashed in “Bel-Air Pink” will remain, while a new interpretation of timelessness is reflected through different design themes from American mid century modern to the glamorous decades of the 1930s, forties and fifties conveyed in a “fresh, youthful and elegant’ manner.

This fall, the hotel will open with a total of 103 guestrooms and suites includes 12 new luxurious spaces built into the hillside which offers a sweeping canyon view, expansive sliding glass walls, outdoor fireplaces and spacious decks with private infinity edge spa pools.

New to the hotel is a 12,000 square foot Spanish mission style structure featuring a new bell tower with many facilities such as a new fitness studio, three unique loft guestrooms with open floor plans, double sided fireplaces and dramatic high ceiling as well as a brand new 4,134 square foot Spa by the luxurious Swish beauty brand, La Prairie.
The spa will showcase a spacious guest relaxation lounge, elegantly designed woman’s and men’s facilities, each equipped with steam and seven treatment rooms including a private couples’ room with an outdoor patio.
The rooms will have an amenity line of body care products designed by La Prairie.

The new hotel Bel-Air website provides access to never before seen digital renderings which portray the thoughtful restoration.
