Gourmet: The very best of single malt whisky

In the year 1887 Glenmorangie was exported all over the world mainly to expatriate Ross-shire folk in the Colonies but also to luxury hotels and businesses in Europe and the United States. In the year 1990 additional stills were added to the still house to keep up with worldwide demand for Glenmorangie Single Malt. In 2002 the brand introduced 2 more fermentation vessels as demand continued to increase. Although Glenmorangie makes more malt whiskey than they used to, the Distillery continues to maintain the tradition on only employing 16 men, who work around the clock, all year round, only stopping for Christmas and essential maintenance. The whisky’s are available in 18 and 25 year old bottling’s, special cask bottling’s, cask finishes extra matured bottling’s, and a range of special edition bottling’s. The Glenmorangie Company also owns the Ardbeg Distillery on Islay and The Scotch Malt Whisky Society based in Leith, Edinburgh, also in Scotland.

This year Glenmorangie has won the price of ‘Best Distillery of 2012‘, handed out by the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition. This award represents the extraordinary quality of Glenmorangie. The brand belongs to the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy group. So whenever you’re in the mood for a good whisky, give yourself a treat and drink single malt Glenmorangie.
