Jaw-dropping Jade from Ulysse Nardin

A stunning jade watch was recently launched by the house of Ulysse Nardin, as a part of their Jade First collection, and it’s backstory is as intriguing as the watch’s own beauty.

The watch came about 11 years ago, as Chai Schnyder, the Chairwoman of Ulysse Nardin, requested that her now late husband, Rolf Schynder, then CEO and President, create a unique Jade Ladies’ watch. Now a decade later, and her vision has become a reality.

This gorgeous watch is of the utmost quality, being the first watch to be designed exclusively in-house, and then manufactured by Ulysse Nardin’s specially trained craftsmen. One of its many impressive details is its self winding calibre.

Substituting as the crown on the dial, there is a Caliber UN 310 holding a pusher at the 4 o’clock position sitting on the case of the watch. In order to adjust timings, all that is needed is an easy turn of the crown forward or backward.

Taking a closer inspection, you see just how spectacular this watch truly is. Adorning the watch are a slew of 41 jewels, with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and a case of 18 ct rose or white gold. Beyond its beauty, the watch is also water resistant up to 30 meters, has a 48 hour power reserve, and a self winding movement that is mechanical in nature.

Near the side of the bezel, four green jade horns take their place, lending the watch a very striking appearance. Additionally, the dial is enclosed by a dazzling ring of diamonds and emeralds, while adding its own touch of elegance with its mother of pearl finish and diamond accents.
