The Flying wFoil Albatross

Who says ships can’t fly? The wFoilgroup has done just that, with their wFoil Albatross, more simply known as the flying boat.

This boat/plane hybrid is named after the legendary Albatross, and designed to emulate the creatures smooth movements in flight. Riding along in the Albatross is a real treat, as it gracefully glides across the water, just as its namesake would.

The Albatross is a two seater, and may also be converted into a sailboat by replacing the detachable engine with the ships sail. At the hull, the construction is done in mountain spruce wood strips, mounted on to an aircraft plywood frame.

Giving the Albatross some extra oomph, the boat is able to reach great speeds through the usage of carbon composite foils, facilitating a constant drag. With these hydrofoils, the Albatross is able to hit 90mph.

Inventor of this stunning ship is Tomaz Zore, both a pilot and flying instructor. Zore is in search of investors to begin full production, and he expects that they will prepay less than the market price for the first 12 models to enable continued interest till the group sells all of the 20 vessels.
