The Show-Stopping Luxus Leica

Just this past May, the stunning Luxux Leica camera was out on the market turning heads. The camera is a collector favorite for old camera fanatics.

Collector’s love this item for a number of reasons, one of which being that it is a very rare relic. This camera is also a staggering beauty.

Crafted in gold work and exotic lizard leather, the Luxus Leica has a unique, classic style. It also includes two lenses, finished in gold plating. With these lenses, the iconic shot of the American sailor kissing his nurse girlfriend during WWII was taken.

The camera has been passed through three previous generations before falling into the hands of Karl Henkell, its latest owner. Henkell is a world famous German producer of sparkling wines.

Recently, the Luxus Leica was auctioned off in WestLicht, Vienna for a price of $683,000. The steep final price exceeded auction expectations for the camera by three and a half times!
