From the house of Louis Vuitton, this past spring they released a series of illustrated travel books to accompany their previously well-received city guides. Inside the limited edition travel books, the pages are filled with work from emerging artists, all hand-selected by Louis Vuitton. Highlighting the best places to eat, drink, shop, and stay, each city guide makes sure that you visit all of the best the region has to offer. A recent launch from this project was the London edition of books, illustrated by the ever popular Natsko Seki, a London based artist. Born in Tokyo, but happily transplanted in London, Seki’s work depicts a dazzling journey of the city from her point of view. The book encapsulates all that is London, from the red phone booths to Regent’s Canal. Using her signature style of super-imposed hand drawings over still photographs, Seki made sure to capture the true essence of London within her imagery. As Seki put it, “In my mind it was as if I was creating a 3D city with everyday scenes like somebody walking their dog and the passers-by turning around to look.” Stemming from her vivid imagination, this art book and travel guide illustrates a vision of London full of color, that comes to life on each page. Louis Vuitton’s other works in this series have included a book on Paris by Congolese painter Cheri Samba, New York by French illustrator Jean-Philippe Delhomme, and Easter Island by American artist Daniel Arsham. If you’d like a copy to grace your own coffee table, the London edition is available at the Louis Vuitton store on Bond Street for €45
