Culture: Belmacz creative Jewels
Posted on 16 April 2012
Julie Muggenburg prefers to describe her Belmacz brand of jewels not as a luxury label but rather as creative cult. Which makes her new London gallery something of a temple to her particular vision for extraordinary adornments crafted from a treasure trove of unusual materials/mammoth tusk, exotic woods and vintage finds constantly changing/ all in the middle of Mayfair, we´re disciples.
Based in London ever since studying fine arts at Central Saint Martin’s, Julia Muggenburg is the creative force behind the cult of Belmacz. The creator of every one of its precious cuffs, pins or rings. Fascinated by age-old rituals of adornment, she transforms mineral, organic and natural materials into modern forms ranging from eccentric to serene.
Belmacz is a creative brand and Julia Muggenburg and she manages to transform basic metal and precious metal into objects of beauty and special desire, by using her creativity. Her beguiling Belmacz jewels are some refined, others wild, but always extraordinary. Exclusively available at the world’s most exciting stores and at the Belmacz space in Davies Street, London.
Now, as well as a gallery-atelier for her extraordinary jewellery designs and inspired beauty preparations, the new Belmacz space in London’s Davies Street is dedicated to all that’s unique and unexpected. Refined with wild, and antique with avant garde, this curious project overrules previous parameters of shopkeeping and art to provide a cultural experience. It’s the place to find an ever-changing , drawn from a range and diverse in their vision as they are robust in their convictions one of a kind pieces.
