Diesel Takes Charge of New York Fashion Week With Its Celebration of Madison Avenue Flagship and Mansion After Party

Diesel doesn’t need a fashion show to shine during New York Fashion Week 2016…..By Derek H. Sparks, Le CITY Brand Ambassador. To celebrate the grand opening of the brand’s Madison Avenue flagship, Diesel threw two top parties during the heart of New York Fashion Week. The evening began at the store itself where A-list attendees sipped champagne and posed among glass vitrines filled with mannequins wearing distressed denim. Among the VIPs and celebs who joined Diesel Owner and Founder Renzo Rosso and Artistic Director Nicola Formichetti were actor Adrien Brody, supermodel Naomi Campbell, campaign star Joe Jonas (nicely sporting his newly red head of hair), and socialite/DJ and fitness entrepreneur Hannah Bronfman, to name a few.
After the in-store opening soiree, writer, performer and nightlife personality, Ladyfag, hosted a raucous after-party in a cavernous private residence in the Upper East Side known as Academy Mansion. Featuring live performances by Travis Scott and Joe Jonas’s new band, DNCE, as well as DJ sets by Virgil Abloh & Heron Preston and The Dolls: Mia Moretti + Margot, the crowd danced and partied the night away.
Every inch of the cavernous mansion was packed with VIP guests and each room was decorated with a different style, the most notable of which was a red-curtained, black-and-white-floored room straight out of Twin Peaks, where a woman with skin painted green summoned guests into a bathroom with a rainbow fluorescent bathtub.
One partygoer was dressed as a demented bellhop – par for the course for this rager for the ages.
