During Cannes Film Festival 2015, Horyou Foundation Hosts Gala Dinner, After-Party Furthering Mission Of Social Good. By Brand Ambassador – Derek Sparks: On Wednesday, the 20th of May 2015, I attended the Horyou Foundation inaugural Gala Dinner at the iconic Villa Saint George amidst the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. The glamorous affair drew the social elite, as well as special guests of honor, and featured a sumptuous dinner by a three-star Michelin chef, fine wine, and musical performances.
During the cocktail reception, Yonathan Parienti, the CEO of Horyou, received the esteemed guests, while artists Lassad Metaoui and Rémi Bertoche conducted live paintings in the beautiful Villa St. George gardens. Yonathan discussed how the Horyou Foundation helps the 700 organizations on the Horyou online platform, the “Social Network for Social Good.”
Several renowned philanthropists attended this highly anticipated evening. Guests of honor UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Marisa Berenson and Dr. Georges Bwelle, a bestowed humanitarian and CNN Hero, captivated the crowd discussing their various experiences. Other philanthropist attendees included Claudine Fischer of L’association Pont Universel, Lamia Khashoggi and Debra Mace from Children for Peace, actress and producer Carla Ortiz, producer Lawrence Bender, artist Ma Tse Lin, flutist Wang Wei, General Marc Alban, calligraphist Lassad Metaoui, “man of cinema” Pierre Rissient, painter Ghass, Phoenix TV anchor Lucie Liu, auctioneer Pierre Cornette de Saint Cyr, humanitarian Michel Baumann from The Meal, singer Mike Massy, singer Carmen Maria Vega, and Zakary Chanou, the CEO of hospitality concierge UUU, just to name some.
The centerpiece of the gala was a magnificent dinner by three-star Michelin chef Marc Veyrat. The perfect accompaniment to the gourmet dinner, the wonderful Xurus Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, was provided by Kambiz and Nilou Safinya from Sonatina Vineyard in Northern California. Other prominent partners with Horyou in support of the Gala included Uber, Champagne Jacquart, La Mamounia hotel in Marrakech, Hôtel Le Crystal Cannes, L’Art de Marcillac, UUU, and Splendens Factory, among others.
The exceptional live entertainment included celebrated pianist Chow Ching Ling, flutist Wang Wei, and the pulsating singer Licia Chery. After the Gala began the private after-party featuring the band Jeffrey & the Crazy Diamonds.
The Horyou Foundation, founded in Geneva in January 2014, supports and advances causes for positive action. Horyou provides funding to hundreds of international bodies as part of the Horyou platform.
