For Fendis Fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection, Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi have reinvented modern feminity without any references from the past. Infinite, innovative interplay of textures, colours and fabrics as Lagerfeld puts it form the basis of the collection. Clean, sculpted, layered and waist conscious silhouettes rise on streamlined and precise contours, where the new wing belt, the bustle pleat and demi kilt create unexpected and structural contrasts. Various materials like matted felt, cashmere doubled leather, fluid coated jersey, double duchesse satin, needle felted knitwear, micro pleated laminated georgette, stingray printed chiffon and suppressed lace appear throughout the collection in rich chromatic palette of natural and deep tones.
For accessories, Galuchat is the new Fendi leitmotif for bags, prints, shoes and stockings in all kinds of refined shades of delicate colours. The new 2Jours bags exude sheer animal magnetism while Giano Miniaudiere, their colour blocked multimedia pochette features a textured astrakhan front panel, metallic back panel, and an enameled push lock closure at top. Boots have also been given an interesting twist with colour blocking and appear in contrasting textures of flannel, galuchat, astrakhan, crocodile and are either buttoned and feathered with fur or laced.
