As a tribute to the grandeur and opulence of Indian royalty, the House of Ganjam recently launched the Nizam collection at IIJW 2012. The jewelry collection gives expression to luxurious, even ostentatious, lifestyle of the erstwhile Hyderabadi royals The Nizams and features unique pieces including jewelry for men, crafted using the finest emeralds, diamonds, pearls and yellow sapphires.
Model and actor Sahil Shroff got one back for the men by stealing the thunder from the lissom models (which included the likes of Rachel Bayros, Candice Pinto, Carol Gracias and Sucheta) and modelled some of the exquisite pieces meant for men including the Sarpech a head ornament for men, diamond and pearl sherwani buttons and a gorgeous neck piece crafted from emeralds, rubilite, diamonds and pearls.
Some of the notable guests in attendance included model Angela Johnson and actress Richa Chadha. Gautam Kapoor, Theron, Suki Dusanj, Alberto & Delba Bestonso, Shyam Iyer and David, and Skye Fischer.
The show opened with a tribute to Prabuddha Das Gupta in the form a short film that gave glimpses of the brilliant campaigns that he and Ganjam collaborated on in their longstanding association.
