Begin your year on a colourful note, with Canali’s just-launched SS’13 collection for men. Inspired by the idea of a permanent vacation, and the sense of freedom that comes from living the good life, the line explores and mixes a range of styles that defy a constricting office suit. Light fabrics such as cotton and silk complement shades that range from yellow and rose pink to sky blues, and find their way in flowing T-shirts.
The casual feel of this line also addresses dress styles from classic American films of the ’50s and ’60s that still fit the modern man’s dressing sensibilities.Linen fabrics display classic pinstripes, while trenches have been reworked into dust jackets. Semi or unlined jackets sport rounded peak labels with soft shoulders and rounded breast-pockets. Fitted waists and contoured cuts in single and six-button double-breasted jackets are also highlighted as defining elements. Canali’s signature Kei jacket is one of the highlights in the collection that has made its appearance on the runway in various colour combinations that enhance its sharp tailoring.
