The Vintage Tour -‘Celebrating the Best of 20 years of the ‘HOUSE OF VALAYA,’ was launched by the luxury fashion house – Kimaya – to mark two decades of Valaya’s couture brand. Comprising of a special commemorative ready-to-wear womenswear collection which revisits some of Valaya’s landmark designs, the tour will travel to Kimaya stores in Mumbai and Bengaluru after its launch in Delhi.
On display will be especially designed celebratory pieces meticulously curated to capture various milestones in the history of the House of Valaya. Anarkalis, Tunics and Saris in fine fabrics including georgettes, Chanderi, and rich brocades, with exotic prints and embroideries will be displayed.
The man himself was full of enthusiasm about the collection and the need for a celebration: “The completion of two decades in Indian fashion deserves its due celebration and needless to say, we are planning to indulge in some with full gusto! There are several events planned through the year, which eventually culminate in a grand retrospective towards the end of the year. Projects include a collector’s coffee table book, a grand restrospective show towards the end of the year, and several intimate events during 2012. As one of the initial endeavors, we take great pleasure in announcing the J.J. Valaya Vintage Tours at Kimaya.
