Art and Culture : Insta beauty!

Instagram1

Instagram adds a touch of visual pleasure as it launches galleries globally for photography enthusiasts.

In 2010 the charm of the Polaroid underwent a digital makeover and became freshly irresistible as Instagramemerged from the efforts of San Fransisco-based@Kevin and @Mikeyk. Today with over 150 million users, this polaroid-based app now goes a step further with a trio-power gallery plan: the Instagramers Gallery, InstagramerGallery.com, and two Instagamers Prizes, that includes the largest photography prize to date, a sum of $100,000. The competition kicked off on the 16th of December 2013.

This brainchild of Phil Gonzalez and Jorge Martínez, two creative professionals from Spain, commenced with the launch of the Instagramers Gallery in Miami on the 11th of December in Wynwood, the first of many to be opened globally. While InstragramerGallery.com shall allow viewers free access to uploaded images from Instagram – only one image shall be uploaded per day from all submissions – the Photo Prizes shall be awarded by a jury of well-recognized personalities in the world of photography, art, communications, and new technologies. They have also come up with a Photo-Day Prize, a daily contest where a small jury of Instagramers and an online gallery audience pick the winner based on a majority of audience votes, allowing it to be safely said that the digital world certainly will become a lot more picturesque in the future.
