Two of the countrys best-known faces have joined hands to launch a beauty website, zine, and blog all rolled into one, www.littleredtote.com that presents quick beauty tips, secrets to flawless skin and great hair, expert talk, and the trends to follow for 2013. Using their coveted insider status as models who ruled the fashion runways in the last decade, Nethra and Fleur speak to makeup mavens, fellow models, hairstylists, celebrity trainers, beauty brands, and invite guest bloggers to post original content.
When asked how they came together to create www.littleredtote.com, Fleur and Nethra admit that their friendship when they started out as models in the industry at the same time, was a big factor. Weve always spoken about what if we launched our own brand, and last year we got serious about collaborating on ideas that could capture who we are, and at the same time, harness the experiences weve had through our careers, they say. Being established models in this industry, they are in the unique position of witnessing and working with some of the most creative people in the field. Our site gives a glimpse into the tips and tricks of the trade, about products out there in the market and what works best for the reader. We bring the industrys wealth of knowledge, through the best people, so that the regular woman can feel and be as beautiful as she really is! say Nethra and Fleur.
So they have asked beauty czarina Ambika Pillai and makeup guru Mickey Contractor to give their trade secrets on such nuggets as how not to look cakey on ones wedding day (ie the right foundation shade for ones skin), as well as the right brushes for eyeshadow application. Nethra and Fleur also speak to fellow models and friends about their favourite beauty products in a section entitled Models Fave Products, and ask one of the countrys first supermodels turned entrepreneur Madhu Sapre her keep-fit regimen, even after two decades away from the ramp.
We asked Nethra and Fleur about their own three must-haves in their bag, and heres what they said: Definitely keys, phone, and wallet. But we also like to stash hand cream, a diary, sanitizer, a book, a shawl, a little makeup, and wet wipes! This beauty website has huge potential: from being an ad magnet for the big beauty brands, to showcasing beauty events, to hosting competitions with luscious beauty give-aways, its got what it takes to attract eyeballs.
