Events: Charu Parasher recreates a Persian fairy tale

Charu Parasher, a formidable name in Indian couture, recently unveiled her bridal collection. Inspired by the vivid minarets of Persian mosque, the geometric tapestry of Turkish floors and the near ethereal colors of Middle Eastern ceramic art, Charu recreated the young and iridescent beauty of the debutante bride.

The whole collection revolves around uber luxe pieces creating a fragile magical look. Designed by ‘ROSE‘, the accessories were set in the highest quality of diamonds with jadau encrusted precious stones like emeralds, rubies.

Sheer, paneled gowns with plunging necklines and tasteful embellishments like the satin rose or the beaded bodice accompanied cocktail dresses. Strap-less long gowns in print were paired with encrusted antique gold shrugs. Delicate pleating offered texture to the ensembles. Saris created in fine silk tulle with print appliqué and then encrusted with tonal crystals gave shimmer a new meaning. Beautiful shrugs and heavily embellished jackets in silk velvet replaced the blouse. Floor skimming kalidar kurtas added a certain magic and princess feel to the ensembles. Bridal lehangas were given a new look with the heavy matt sequence jackets.

Embellishments in crystals and encrusted jewels took fragile forms in Turkish patterns. Heavy appliqué work with hues of Indian Zardozi formed an infused look. Tonal crystals, matt gold sequence heavily adorned the collection colors–from light cappuccino, teal going to esspresso, midnight blue to indigo and charcoal & blood red.
