Friday 24 May saw some fast-paced tennis action on the courts of the Capital’s Delhi Lawn Tennis Association, on Africa Avenue. This was the first edition of Le City Deluxe India Corporate Tennis tournament, hosted by entrepreneur Shaleen Jain and India’s newest luxury magazine Le City Deluxe India (published by The Nihal Group, headed by Sunil Nihal Duggal).
The winners were presented with their silver trophies over drinks and dinner, held at Zerzura, at Clarion Collection Qutab hotel in Vasant Kunj. Shaleen Jain and Suruchi Duggal, CEO, Le City Deluxe India, announced the winners: A-group (good players) Jaideep Bhatia and Anshul Bagai, and B-group (recreational players), Nikhil Mehra and Varun Jaipuria.
Amidst much banter over Middle-Eastern finger foods, wine, and cocktails, guests enjoyed the atmosphere at Zerzura, with many dancing to the beat of the DJ. Former national tennis champion Rohit Rajpal, and restaurateurs AD Singh and Shiv Karan Singh were seen catching up with host Shaleen Jain and his stylish wife Anu Jain. Former cricketer Atul Wassan, entrepreneur Yasheel Jain, and polo player Uday Kalaan and his wife Sandra were among the first ones in, while model and actor Anupama Verma and MC Ramneek Paintal made a late appearance. Industrialist Akhil Nath also made a blink-and-you’ll-miss appearance, as he was leaving for Frankfurt that very night. Designer Vijay Arora dished about his summer plans in the South of France, while the suave Nikhil Mehra gave shopping tips for menswear in Milan. His wife, Vidushi, cut the perfect figure in black-and-white chequered pants. The party gained momentum as more and more guests took to the dance floor, to enjoy a cool evening on an otherwise hot night.
