Audi India launched its newest offspring, the sporty R8, in true Bollywood style, on a cool January afternoon this year. As the cast and crew of action thriller Race 2 descended upon a star-struck audience at Audi’s Mathura Road, New Delhi showroom, they shared the dais with one of the movie’s biggest heroes – a shiny R8 Coupé just raring to go. Actors Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Amisha Patel posed for the shutterbugs with Audi India head Michael Perschke. “We’re lucky to have had Audi sponsor our film. Race 2 is all about being slick and cool, and Audi fits right in,” said Khan. “I loved the R8 so much, I bought one!” he added. Padukone said that she was already familiar with the Audi brand, known for its reliability, since she already owned a Q7. Michael Perschke promised more surprises from the German brand, as champagne was served to celebrate.
