Gourmet & Nightlife: Megu Wins the Six-star Diamond Award

Redefining the luxury fine dining experience, MEGU New York, which has an outpost at The Leela Palace New Delhi is the first ever Japanese hospitality firm to receive the coveted International Six-Star Diamond Award by American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (AAHS). The award was conferred upon MEGU at a veritable ceremony attended by Donald Trump JR, Miss USA, Tomaczek Bednarek, Anne Hathaway, Adam Shulman, Tony Lo Bianco and Rita Cosby among many other distinguished guests. The International Star Diamond Award is the most prestigious emblem recognizing the exceptional experience and the true quality offered by hospitality establishments.

Reserved only for the industry’s crème de la crème, the award pays tribute to the finest ingredients, the best food presentations, the distinctly authentic yet modern interiors, custom-made dishes and cutlery and the exclusive dining experience at all outposts of MEGU worldwide.

Joseph Cinque, President and CEO of the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences said, No doubt, the core aspects of MEGU’s service, cuisine and the restaurant itself are daring, polished and superb, but it’s the incarnation of what’s incredible, even unbelievable, that’s immortalizing MEGU. We’re thrilled to recognize all the artistic integrity, conscientious efforts and imaginative talent that have shaped this exquisite, highly differentiated fine-dining experience. The International Six Star Diamond Award is a well-deserved ‘toast’ to the taste and texture of what defines MEGU.

We are delighted that MEGU has been awarded this prestigious recognition. This is a testament to the hard work of the brand and the entire team in New York and New Delhi. Our partnership with MEGU stands strong and we are committed to continuing the success in India, making it the leading modern Japanese restaurant in the country. This is just another milestone we have crossed together, enthused Tamir Kobrin, General Manager, The Leela Palace, New Delhi.

Established in 2004, MEGU New York is the flagship restaurant to four additional MEGU restaurants at New Delhi, New York, Moscow; Russia and Doha. The restaurant chain is an international icon of Japanese heritage and culture.
