New Delhi’s most anticipated night time destination opens its doors to international party lovers and welcomes them into an alternate, psychedelic world of sensory perceptions.
Located on the third floor of The Crescent Mall in Mehrauli, Shroom is a luxurious, enigmatic escape overlooking the elegant Qutub Minar. Adjacent to the widely acclaimed cuisine restaurant and molecular cocktail bar – Smoke House Room, the team of Impresario and Dam Good Restaurants conceptualized a space which brings an international feel to it.
Riyaaz Amlani of Impresario explains his vision for Shroom, “Clubs are somewhere you can ignore the mandates of day-to-day life and really have an experience. Shroom is unlike any club currently open in India – it plays on all of your senses. The minute you enter through the door, you could be anywhere. Delhi loves to party and Shroom will bring an awareness of that to the international club scene.”
Thelighting inside the club brings out the sinuous, fluid nature of the space and creates the illusion of being inside a giant pulsing organism. Sumptuous velvet lounges recline intimately along the walls and futuristic tables are lit from within. Designed by Mumbai based interior experience group The Busride Design Studio, Ayaz Basrai has worked on a number of projects with Impresario and Dam Good Restaurants, he says, “Shroom is something magical, when you enter the space your whole sensory perception changes. Everything from the lights, to the material on the booths and the drinks glasses is designed to alter your state of mind and bring you into a state of separation from anything you’ve ever experienced.”
Sipping at Shroom is an ultra-chic endeavour with an ingenious cocktail list and also a spirit list that spans the liquid spectrum and surprises you with every sip. The bar snacks are equally exotic and feature the likes of Braised Mushroom and Sour Dough Crostini etc.
Exclusively curated by musicians, DJ’s from Ibiza, Germany and Milan join resident music masters for a soundtrack of deep, sexy beats and original club mixes every night until late. Alluring with progressive house, EDM and trance – the soundtrack of Shroom is an audible journey. The road less traveled if you will, for daring ears only.
