Motoring: Excellence on Wheels

The launch of the latest model of the four-door marque highlights the 50th anniversary of the elegant Italian Quattroporte brand. While the design elements of the new Maserati Quattroporte stay true to the graceful principles and lines of Italian sophistication, it is certainly of more generous proportions as compared to its previous model. A strong belt line running through the entire side of the car is a new feature, even though some of its predecessor’s characteristics such as the front grille, triangular C-pillar and three side vents have, according to Lorenzo Ramaciotti, head of Maserati Design Centre, been purposely maintained in the new model. He also describes the luxurious interiors, saying, Functional elements are blended with soft quality surfaces made of prestigious woods and refined leathers,” which serves to further titillate the suspense that surrounds the launch of the car. The New Maserati is also more eco-friendly than any previous offering from its stable, according to Robert Corradi, vehicle development director and Paolo Martinelli, powertrain director at Maserati. The company expects tremendous global development, which is highlighted by the CEO of Maserati, Harald Wester’s words: Maserati stands today at the edge of an unparalleled strategic and industrial growth that will see our presence in the world rise to 50,000 units a year by 2015… It is a growth that will be based on three new models entering two new segments of the automobile market – and it starts with the all-new 2013 Maserati Quattroporte.
