Award-winning Australian actor and Swiss watchmaker Longines ambassador Simon Baker received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame the 2,490th star so far presented by The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on 14 February 2013, in Los Angeles, California. The star became a Longines Ambassador of Elegance last June, and joins an illustrious group that includes Kate Winslet, tennis greats Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, Chinese star Chi Ling Lin, and Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Walter von Känel, president of Longines, said, Simon Baker is an important member of the Longines family and we couldnt be more pleased that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce recognized in him the same qualities that we admire.
The actor, whos been seen on Indian screens in his lead role in The Mentalist, has also starred in Hollywood hits such as Margin Call and The Devil Wears Prada. He wore a HydroConquest timepiece as he posed next to his star. This diving watch is fitted with a mechanical movement, L667, and has an ocean-blue dial embellished with a big12 and SuperLuminova luminescent indices. The chronograph model has a stainless-steel case with screwed back and crown, a unidirectional turning bezel in eloxed aluminium, and lateral protection for the crown. It is water-resistant to 30 bar (300m).
