And the Spring 2012 Collection is no different, as the jewelry genie continues to create distinct, irreplaceable pieces. This season, Bittar is rocking—literally—with rings, cuffs, and necklaces made from gorgeous handmade drusy crystals.
He says, “I have always felt restricted by the weight of natural drusy (which is sets of tiny crystals of minerals that form on the surface of another stone). I always wanted to form it and bend it and never could, so I decided to make my own! Each piece is then hand carved. The effect looks quite real, and without the weight.” In addition, Bittar refereces a bit of his early punk days but glammed it up a bit. The Havisham Collection maintans a classic and sculptural feel with the unexpected edges.
Described as “one of the greatest jewelry designers of the 21st century”, Alexis went from hawking his wares on the streets of New York to selling his eponymous jewelry collections in more than 34 countries around the globe.
