A star-studded event, the cast of “The Hunger Games” film celebrated its world premiere at the Nokia Theatre with an elegant black and gold carpet in Los Angeles Monday night.
The movie is an adaptation of Suzanne Collins young adult novel “ The Hunger Games” about a post-apocalyptic world where there is an annual battle in which only one person can survive. Already being compared to the Twilight series, the premiere was on such a high level of anticipation that hundreds of fans slept on the sidewalk outside the Nokia Theatre the night before.
The film’s lead star, Jennifer Lawrence, stole the spotlight with her shimmering metallic gold gown by Prabal Gurung almost mimicking the book’s cover with gold mockingjay, while supporting actors Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth looked dapper in their classic black tuxedos. Another supporting actress, Elizabeth Banks,was also stunning in her bright orange Versace dress. The lavish after party bash was held under a tent on the top level of L.A. Live.
The Hunger Games hits theaters March 23.
