The Canadian architect and designer based in London, Yorgo Lykouria presented in the showroom of Spain Dornbracht brand work for Alape and his particular vision of architecture and design.
In his lecture “Architecture, substance and illusion” shared with the audience his views on the practice of architecture and his interest in simplicity and space. “In practice we work at the intersection of several disciplines: architecture, interior architecture, furniture and product design, and film. Activity I call this practice architecture,” says Lykouria.
His words reflect his interest in creating moments of conscious reflection, pleasure and awe in everyday life, they become mundane and prosaic poetry. According to him, “what really happens in the invisible but perceptible substance called space links the experience of the human mind. Throughout harmony and purpose in these relationships, we create an ethereal beauty in the context of our own existence.”
To design Lykouria not start from prejudice or precedent. If you start with an open mind.
