Years ago urban sculpture was big in Moscow – all kinds of statues of girls with paddles, young pioneers or animals could be found all over our city. But there is a composition on the corner of Malaya and Bolshaya Bronnaya streets – The Storks (Aists) – depicting dancing birds – which may be the most romantic sculpture of all. This statue is kind of a cult object; it is almost a symbol of the place already. So, what name could be given to a new restaurant? Aist, of course. In the new three-storey building you will find beautiful glass walls, fancy interior from Evgeniy Mitta, traditional excellent service from Arkadiy Novikov and delicious food from unique Italian chefs.
The building accommodates a cafe, a restaurant and two open-air summer decks. The first floor of the restaurant Aist is designed in modern laconic style. Lots of wooden surfaces used by the interior decorators create a cozy feeling. Functionally, this is a lounge-zone with deep and soft armchairs and a large bar which is dominating the room. The guest stairway is decorated with two-color wooden panels slightly imitating the style of the 70-s.
The design of the second floor includes elements of a classic reception-room of the 19th century which supports the basic image id the entire building – a mansion in the center of the Moscow historic district.
As for the summer deck located on the roof of the mansion, it is a real masterpiece. It opens for customers in the Spring. And there is never enough space for everybody. Because any time of the year the view from this roof is stunningly beautiful. Imperfect, but such a unique landscape, all that touching artwork of irregular streets and houses of the old Moscow center, will bring you one of the nicest impressions this city can deliver.
Many elements of interior decor were custom designed and made.
The furniture used in the interior was produced by the leading European companies such as Marie’s Corner, Andrew Martin, Modenature; upholstery: Brochier, Silent Gliss, Luciano Marcato.
Concept: Different menus for the first and second floors. On the first floor there is a cafe with mixed cuisine. Along with Salmon carpaccio with fennel and Tuna tartar with soy sauce, you will find Borsch with sour cream and Rissoles from beef, chicken and pike-perch.
Second floor is a fine dining restaurant serving Italian, Mediterranean and French cuisine in a simple style.
Chef: Fabricio Crespi. Graduate of a culinary school in Sardinia, he worked as a sous chef and a chef in restaurants at five-star hotels in Italy, Switzerland and France. For a long time due to his classic culinary training Fabricio was an adherent of classic Italian and French cuisines. But in the course of practical learning of culinary arts he realized that the key to good cooking is the high quality of ingredients and that it is very important to keep the food wholesome in the process of cooking; then comes taste and appearance. He says that the food should be light, delicious and understandable, which concerns both the process of cooking and the way it is served.
