Travel: Almost at home

Helsinki Airport offers international award-winning lounges and with this lounge they are in the race for another award. A great concept that is perfectly completed and is really thoughtful for al those “almost at home” travelers.

Designed to be a homey rest stop for busy travelers, Almost@home is al about relaxing, enjoying and, if necessary, get a little work done. It’s a fact that home-like areas are perfect for relaxing. All the furniture is from Arteks 2nd Cycle line of recycled furniture, which have been an actual part of the lives of Finnish families for several decades. All those pieces are restored and will now live a second life at the Finnish Airport.

Almost@home has a big kitchen, that’s the center of the lounge. There is also a big and cozy living room, a library and a little gallery. For those who want to get some work done, there are private offices, and you can even book a meeting room. As a family you can get your own room and of course the lounge owns some stunning bathrooms with showers for refreshing.

On of the best things about the Almost@home lounge is the fact that you can purchase everything you like. In fact it’s a living art exposition with recycled furniture. Whatever you see; furniture, tableware, decorative items, you just buy them and take them home.

This exclusive lounge is open to loyalty cardholders every day and if you are not a cardholder you can experience this relaxing area for a little fee.
