Travel: Santos Hotel Porta Fira: design and art

Designed by architect Toyo Ito and b720 Arquitectos study, led by Fermín Vázquez, the architectural priorities is to respond to the environment and become the gateway to the city of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Barcelona International Airport El Prat.

Original and fascinating
In the words of the Japanese architect, “Architecture is no better than a tree,” thus, Toyo Ito has designed this round tower gracefully, as if moved by the wind. The view of the building changes with the place from which we look at it. There is no facade, all the building offers views that are different but equally fascinating. This dynamic, cutting-edge and red tower with 110 meters becomes part of the Barcelona skyline, adding a touch of color with its striking facade.
Santos Porta Fira is an impressive building with 24 floors in the shape of lotus flower, with a futuristic design and open spaces to get your mind of tension. The project comprises two distinct towers that maintain a subtle dialogue between them. Although both buildings have a clear contrast in forms, together achieve a harmonious and complementary. The buildings-high 110 each, have a strong symbolic value, and that emulate the historic Venetian towers give way to the fairground of Barcelona Spain plaza.
Equipped with all amenities, the new hotel features a Wellness Center located on the 17th floor with stunning views over the city. The center is equipped with: Gym, Sauna, two showers, ice fountain and two treatment rooms.
