The new SLK continues to avoid the soft top, setting a revised version of a folding rigid model. It offers to choose from standard aluminium roof with fixed or variable tinted glass. Inside – new angular instrument panel, modeled on the SLS, with the characteristic holes, more modern devices and a new range of finishes.
It has been confirmed that the new car will have three petrol engines. 1.8-liter turbocharged engine producing 184 hp will be set in SLK200, SLK250 will be able to develop power of 204 hp, SLK200 will have a standard six-speed manual gearbox and be able to accelerate to 100 km / h in 7.0 seconds. In the SLK350 will be a new 3.5-liter V6 engine with direct injection of 305 hp power in combination with a standard seven-step machine. The new engines equipped with a “start-stop” system which significantly improves performance and efficiency. Acceleration to 100 km / h will take this model just 5.6 seconds. The new SLK is also available in diesel twin-turbo 2.1-liter four-cylinder engine which develops 204 hp.
