Each hall encompassed a theme: the international hall, the themed hall and the domestic hall. The new overseas players in the foreign tourism bureau include Canada, U.S.A, Russia, Iceland, Iran and Great Britain. Their opulent and exotic presentations, along with other key players from home and abroad made GITF one of the most important international tourism exhibitions in both China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Sponsored by Guangdong Provincial Tourism Administration and Tourism Administration of Guangzhou Municipality, GITF 2012 was organized by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd. The international hall and themed hall were open to trade visitors during the first two days and then to the public on the third.

The Canadian Tourism Commission had the strongest return with a large booth of over 200 square meters. The Russian Tourism Bureau also made a spectacular presentation
