Palau Moxó

Events with history

Barcelona’s Gothic neighborhood has the only Barcelonese private 18th Century palace that keeps, to this day, its original furniture and interiors. The style is late baroque, with classic influence, and it is located in time between the Gothic Barcelona Cathedral and Gaudí’s modernism.

Ever since it was first built, it has belonged to the same family, the Moxós, who, in an attempt to bring this cultural gem a bit closer, present the public with the possibility of renting the venue for exclusive events and private celebrations.

It’s important to highlight the many possibilities that the ground floor offers, where the old stables, the old coach-house and the old coal room were located. Everything creates an impeccable space and a lovely terrace where the stables used to be. Another ideal area is what has come to be known as “Planta Noble” (the Noble Floor), composed by three rooms: the piano room, the Montcortés room and the Rocaberti room, apart from an adorable open-air courtyard, very frequently found in Catalonian houses and palaces. This palace is the last one of its kind, since numerous palatial residences of the city were destroyed during the Spanish Civil War, and it has established itself as an ideal space for elegant and intimate events. There is also the possibility of scheduling visits and concerts with prior reservation
