WINTER 2012

One of the many prominent novelties presented has been the wireless commands that came to replace the classic rudder.

Barcelona International Boat Show: Salón Náutico Barcelona 2012 The boats and the sea become the great protagonists

The boats and the sea have been the great stars of the Barcelona International Boat Show Salón Náutico Barcelona 2012. Featuring about 700 ships –between the floating and the on-land exposition-, the event closed its most maritime edition concentrating, for the first time ever, all its offer in the Barcelona venue of Port Vell. The technological novelties applied to boating, the new charter services to attract new clients and the maritime leisure activities, such as the boat night parade, have largely contributed to its success.

The new design of the venue has allowed visitors to see, touch and even hop on the boats and sail on the sea to try the new water sports gears. Luis Conde, President of this event, stated that “This boat show continues to be the best place to find a boat, the expositors make a great effort to present their novelties and products and to offer the best buying conditions for visitors”.

Additionally, the event also put together a great variety of activities looking to foster the enthusiasm for boating. To this end, the Fun Beach area was once again opened. There, visitors were able to receive an introduction to sailing and to learn the basic notions of sailing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle surfing or even… literally flying, hovering over the sea with a new water gadget: the Flyboard!
